This rail connection in Poland has become a hit. "We're waiting for tourists."

The return of trains to Karpacz was one of the biggest events in the Polish rail market this year. After 25 years, passengers can once again reach the town at the foot of Śnieżka Mountain, and on weekends and holidays, enjoy the attraction of riding on retro trains operated by the Railway Enthusiasts' Club.
Trains to the heart of the Karkonosze Mountains launched on June 14th and quickly generated considerable interest. Damian Stawikowski, president of Koleje Dolnośląskie, announced that 25,000 passengers had already used them in just two weeks. July forecasts are also promising, with up to 35,000 passengers expected.
Radosław Jęcek, mayor of Karpacz, encouraged people to explore the city and its surroundings.
"We're waiting for tourists at the Karpacz station! It's always better to reach us by luxury train of the Lower Silesian Railways than by car. Especially since the route from Jelenia Góra to Karpacz is one of the most beautiful in the country. We're hoping that the railway will solve our problems with traffic congestion in the city. After all, we receive crowds of visitors," he said.
"This is a symbolic opening of a new chapter in the development of rail transport in our region. We are rebuilding further lines, bringing rail back to places where it was once commonplace, fighting transport exclusion, and proving that Lower Silesia is the infrastructural heart of Poland," said Paweł Gancarz, Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, on the occasion of the new chapter in Koleje.
